Juvenile taken into custody after bringing CO2 gun to Alliance High School football game

A juvenile was arrested after they were found in possession of a firearm at the Alliance High School football game Thursday night.

ALLIANCE - A juvenile was arrested after they were found in possession of a firearm at the Alliance High School football game Thursday night. 

According to Alliance Police, a school resource officer was alerted by Alliance Dispatch that a student had a firearm in the stadium bleachers at approximately 9:15 p.m. Authorities quickly located the juvenile in the top-left section of the bleachers, and during the detention process, a black handgun fell from the suspect’s waistband.  The weapon was secured without incident.

The firearm was later identified as a black .177 Daisy Powerline CO2 gun, resembling a real handgun but functioning as an air pistol.

The juvenile was taken into custody and transported to the Alliance Police Department for further processing. No injuries were reported.

The Alliance Police Department praised the quick actions of those who reported the situation, including Alliance school officials. They remind the public that vigilance is key to maintaining a safe community.

The name of the juvenile has been withheld due to privacy concerns, and the investigation is ongoing.
