Bridgeport girls remain undefeated, Bulldog boys suffer loss in Pine Bluffs

Tuesday night saw the battle of the purple and gold as the Bridgeport Bulldogs traveled to Wyoming to battle the Pine Bluffs Hornets.

The girls game was dominated by the undefeated bulldogs. Led by Tacey From who scored about half of the teams 57 points, Ella Schluterbusch who scored 10 points and Elizabeth Velazquez who had 6 points and 5 rebounds, the bulldogs were able to fight of a hornets attack led by Jessica Hoffman who had 12 points and 9 rebounds and Avery Gray who had 10 points. Bridgeport won the game 57-41 to improve to 6-0 on the season. Pine Bluffs falls to 3-2.

The boys game was a battle from start to finish. Both teams led by at least 5 points at different times but neither of them was able to pull away in what was a very physical match-up. The home team gained the advantage late with the help of strong defense from Gabe Federer and Jesus Solis. Justin Lerwick led scoring for the team with 12 points, Shawn Shmidl had 10 points and 4 rebounds to propel them to the win. On the bulldogs side, Hayes Watts led scoring with 12 points while Gage Nein scored 8 points and got 5 rebounds. Pine Bluffs won 56-46 after pulling away on foul shots to improve to 3-2. Bridgeport falls to 3-2.
