Lois Maurine Gustafson, age 100, of Dix, Nebraska, passed away on December 21, 2024, in Sidney, Nebraska. She was born December 23, 1923, in Dix, Nebraska to Theodore C. and Alice (Benson) Mathewson.

After attending Potter High School, Lois graduated from Sidney High School in 1940 and then attended Chadron State Teachers College, obtaining her teaching certificate in 1942.

Lois and Burdette Gustafson were married August 29, 1942. She was a member of Prairie West Church, Potter, Nebraska.

Survivors include her children: Gary and Susan Gustafson, Kaye and Jerry Repp and Don Gustafson; grandchildren Brian (Lynette) Gustafson, Kyle (Jennifer) Gustafson, Jeremy Repp, Kevin (Becka) Repp, Jennifer (Justin) Limon, Amanda Grosshans; great grandchildren Brode, Jake and Neve Gustafson, Lindsey Repp, Jackson and Emma Repp, Jack Limon and Karsyn Grosshans. Additional survivors include her sisters Thelma Dilger and Connie (Rich) Krause and extra son, Tom Smith and his family.

Lois is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, brother Kermit Brumbaugh, sisters Phyllis Mathewson and Myra O'Donnell.

A private family interment will be held at Greenwood Cemetery, Sidney, Nebraska. A memorial service will be held at Prairie West Church, Potter, Nebraska on Monday, December 30, 2024, at 11:00 A.M with Pastor Warren Cico Officiating.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to a recipient of the donor's choice. Suggestions include Dix Rural Fire Department, Potter Fire and Rescue, Potter-Dix Public School Scholarship Fund and Prairie West Church.

 Gehrig-Stitt Chapel & Cremation Service, LLC is in charge of Lois’ care and funeral arrangements.
