SIDNEY, Neb. - A Pacific storm system is set to bring colder temperatures and wintry weather to western Nebraska starting Friday night and lasting through Saturday night, according to the National Weather Service.

A Dense Fog Advisory is in effect from 8 p.m. Friday until 11 a.m. Saturday for Banner, Box Butte, Cheyenne, Dawes, Kimball, Morrill, Scotts Bluff, Sioux, Garden, Deuel and Keith counties in Nebraska and Logan and Sedgwick counties in northeast Colorado. Visibility in these areas could drop to less than a quarter mile, creating hazardous driving conditions. Freezing drizzle may also develop, leading to slick roadways.

The fog and freezing drizzle are expected to transition to snow by Saturday evening, with light to moderate snow accumulations likely. Travel impacts, including icy roads and reduced visibility, are anticipated through early Sunday morning.

Motorists are advised to slow down, use headlights, and maintain extra distance between vehicles while driving.
