Western Nebraska Summer Camp for Visually Impaired receives major donation from Tallgrass
CHAPPELL, Neb. — A specialized summer camp dedicated to enriching the lives of students with visual impairments is receiving a significant boost thanks to a generous donation from Tallgrass.
The Western Nebraska Summer Camp for Students with Visual Impairments will use the funds to provide campers with critical resources, specialized accommodations and expanded opportunities to develop independence, confidence and social skills.
The camp offers a welcoming environment where visually impaired students can learn essential skills, build friendships and participate in activities such as swimming, hiking, arts and crafts, and technology workshops. It also ensures that campers have access to adaptive recreational activities, mobility training and educational experiences tailored to their needs.
"We're proud to support organizations across our footprint and are especially proud of Jake Hopkin and Blake Basseggio, who recognized this need and helped deploy funds within their local community," said Rachel Carmichael, senior director of public affairs at Tallgrass.
Tallgrass, which operates large-scale, multimodality infrastructure across 14 states, focuses on safely and sustainably delivering energy and services. The company manages more than 10,000 miles of pipelines and continues to support local communities through initiatives like this donation.
