Fehringer and Dam among recipients of Nebraska Farm Bureau student project grants

SIDNEY — Two western Nebraska students are being recognized by the Nebraska Farm Bureau for their entrepreneurial efforts in agriculture.

Amanda Fehringer of Cheyenne County and Hailey Dam of Arthur County are among nine recipients of the 2025 Nebraska Farm Bureau Student Project Grants. The grants, supported by the Charles Marshall Fund, help young agriculturalists start or expand 4-H or FFA Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) projects.

Fehringer, a longtime livestock exhibitor, received $250 toward her market beef project. The Sidney-area student has been actively involved in showing market beef, sheep, goats and dogs over the past six years. She plans to use the funds to purchase new equipment to improve her livestock exhibitions.

Dam, who has successfully bred and shown rabbits for nearly three years, was awarded $750 to grow her show rabbit operation. The Arthur County youth plans to expand her efforts to offer quality rabbits for other youth exhibitors across the state.

The annual grant program awarded $4,000 in total to students across Nebraska. Grants range from $250 to $1,000 and are available to student Farm Bureau members. Recipients are selected based on the strength of their projects and commitment to agriculture.
