He attended the Lorenzo School until his senior year when he, his parents and brother, Philip moved into Sidney. He graduated from Sidney High School in 1949. After high school he joined his father in the family farming operation.

On December 30, 1951, Glen married Betty Ruth Benzel in Sidney at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church which is where they met when they were attending confirmation classes together. They celebrated their 73rd wedding anniversary this past December. They made their home in Lorenzo where they continued farming. To this union were born three children, Glenda, Pamela and Michael.

Glen was very much an outdoorsman. He was an exceptional marksman and won many awards for trapshooting. Many hours were spent in the hunting blind in Broadwater calling in ducks and geese. He enjoyed fishing, boating and water skiing with friends and family. Glen always enjoyed visiting with everyone and always managed to interject a joke or two followed by a little smirk on his face.

Survivors include his wife Betty, daughters Glenda and husband Randy Bang of Sterling, CO and Pam and husband Randy Fagerlund of Flagler, CO, son Michael of Lorenzo, NE., a brother Phil of Wyoming, three grandchildren and five great- grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, George and Sylvia Fleming and in-law’s Alex and Lillian Benzel.
