Scottsbluff officials caution of fraudulent email scam

Scottsbluff Police are warning the public of a fraudulent email claiming affiliation with the City of Scottsbluff.

SCOTTSBLUFF (July 24, 2025) -- The Scottsbluff Police Department today reported receiving reports of fraudulent emails sent from an address falsely claiming affiliation with the City of Scottsbluff.

These emails contain fake invoices requesting payment.

 The Police Department would like to remind the public that all official email communication from the City of Scottsbluff will come from addresses ending in “@scottsbluff.org”.

 If you receive an email that appears suspicious or if you have any doubts, before submitting payment, please contact the City of Scottsbluff’s Director of Finance, Lane Kizzire, at City Hall by calling 308-633-3796.
