Michael L. Nienhuser, 74, of Sidney, died on Wednesday, July 30, 2025 at SRMC Extended Care in Sidney.  Cremation has been held and memorial services will be held at a later date. Friends may visit www.cantrellfh.com to view Michael’s Tribute Wall and share condolences with the family.  Memorials may be given in his memory to Night of Hope or a Animal Shelter of the donor’s choice.  The services for Michael have been entrusted to the Cantrell Funeral Home. 

Michael Louis Nienhuser, a beloved son, husband and father was born in Sidney, Nebraska on September 1, 1950 the son of Louis and Betty (Phelps) Nienhuser.  He attended and then graduated from Sidney High School in 1968. He developed a passion for the outdoors, enjoying fishing, hunting, bowling, and golf. He was always happiest when surrounded by nature and spent countless hours enjoying these activities. Michael also cherished time with his family, especially his children and grandchildren, and his love for them was evident in everything he did. He worked for Rood’s Tire Center and later the City of Sidney. Michael had a love for animals, especially his dogs Boo Boo and Bernie. He was known for his kindness, sense of humor and  warm spirit.

Survivors include his wife Pamela Nienhuser of Sidney, NE; daughter Shilo (Phil) Reyes and son Christopher (Amber) Nielsen; sister Luann (Lee) Bruce; brother Larry (Linda) Nienhuser; many grandchildren and great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Betty and his grandparents Louis and Violet Nienhuser and Dora Phelps.
