PNCC Potter 120 Hare Scramble returns Labor Day weekend

POTTER, Neb. – Off-road riders from across the region will descend on Cheyenne County next weekend for the annual PNCC Potter 120 Hare Scramble, a two-day event featuring dirt bikes, quads and youth racing on a 7.2-mile course.

The race weekend begins Friday, Aug. 29, when the campground opens at noon at the Point of Rocks campgrounds south of Potter. Racing starts Saturday morning with AHRMA classes at 8 a.m., followed by youth and mini divisions, quad minis and women’s classes. Saturday’s events also include the Potter Days parade, with riders participating.

On Sunday, registration opens at 6 a.m., with racing beginning at 8 a.m. for multiple classes. Pro and A divisions take the course at noon, followed by the quad race at 2:30 p.m. A beer garden hosted by Boss City Brewing of Sidney opens at 3 p.m., and podium ceremonies will be held at 4 p.m. The evening will close with The Big Boy BIG “Party in the Pasture,” a concert featuring Mud County at 5 p.m.

Riders and spectators should note that no pit riding is allowed, spark arrestors are not required and participants are urged to watch for snakes, prairie dog hole  and farm traffic on county roads.

Admission is $10 per person at the gate. Race fees vary by class, ranging from $35 for youth to $75 for pro entries. CORCS members receive discounts.
