LODGEPOLE – Communities around Lodgepole came together over Labor Day weekend for the 101st Old Settlers’ Days, a celebration steeped in history and local pride.

The three-day event began Friday night with a kickoff dance at the Community Hall. Saturday brought a packed schedule, including a golf tournament, softball games, tractor pull, car show and the popular bake-off contest. Families gathered at the Community Hall for supper and an illusion show from "Adamagic."

Sunday’s highlights included church in the park, volleyball, bingo, a burger bash and live music at a well-attended street dance. The festival wrapped up Monday with the annual parade, a community barbecue and program at South Park and the horseshoe tournament.

Originally launched as the Cheyenne County Union Picnic in the late 1800s, the event has grown into Lodgepole’s signature celebration, drawing visitors from across the Panhandle for food, music and family fun.
