Scottsbluff, Chadron advance to Nebraska high school girls state golf tournament

Norris edges Scottsbluff by one stroke, and Valentine takes C-5 gold as area golfers punch their tickets to state.

LINCOLN - Norris edged Scottsbluff by a single stroke Monday to capture the 2025 NSAA Class B-4 District girls golf title at Pioneers Golf Course, while Valentine claimed top team honors in the Class C-5 District at Crandall Creek.

In the B-4 meet, Norris finished with a team score of 356 to narrowly hold off Scottsbluff’s 357. Senior Natalie Shield led Norris with an 80, finishing runner-up behind Scottsbluff’s Addison Peck, who also carded an 80. Elkhorn placed third with 380.

Norris’ balanced lineup included Estelle Koehlmoos (88), Jolei Skov (91), Hayden Heiss (97) and Mackenzie Jantzen (100). For Scottsbluff, Peck’s 80 was followed by Elliot Selzer’s 87, MayLee Smith’s 91 and matching 99s from Addison Carmody and MolliJane Smith. Elkhorn’s Annabelle Bang placed third overall with an 83.

Individual qualifiers from the B-4 district included Peck, Shield, Bang, Selzer, Koehlmoos, Skov, Aubrey Johnson (Lincoln Standing Bear), Smith, Marlee Bauer (Lincoln Standing Bear) and Anna Stirek (Blair).

At the C-5 district in Ogallala, Valentine captured the team title with a 395 behind Tierney Miller’s tournament-best 86. Teammate Joni Cox added a 90 for the Badgers, who also counted scores from Rylee Wackler (102), Grace Murphy (117) and Samantha Sprenger (128). Chadron finished second with a 430, led by senior Reese Ritterbush (95) and Emmerson Landreth (97), while Gothenburg took third with 462.

Individual medalist honors went to Miller of Valentine, followed by Perkins County’s Jacqueline Gloy (88), Cox (90), Gothenburg’s Kaylee Olsen (93) and Mitchell’s Kaidyn Patterson (93). Kimball’s Aubrey Culek tied for 10th with a 105 to also qualify for state.

The NSAA Girls Golf State Championships on October 13-14.
