OSHKOSH, Neb. - Garden County will host St. Mary’s in the D2-6 District Final on Saturday with a trip to the Nebraska School Activities Association State Volleyball Championships next week on the line. The district championship match is set for 1 p.m. MT in Oshkosh.

No. 6 Garden County (30-3) advanced to its second straight district final after sweeping Potter-Dix in straight sets Tuesday to win the D2-11 Subdistrict Championship. Junior Kirstyn Beberniss led the Eagles with nine kills, two blocks, two aces and 16 assists, while senior Ridglyn Stanczyk served up nine aces with eight kills and 11 assists.

No. 11 St. Mary’s (25-7) punched its ticket to the district final by sweeping both CWC and Stuart in the D2-6 Subdistrict held at St. Mary’s High School earlier this week.

The Big Boy will also broadcast the Garden County football team’s first-round playoff game Friday against Crawford, beginning at 5 p.m.
