AINSWORTH, Neb. - A 42-year-old Springview man is facing 20 felony counts of possession of child sexual abuse material. Jeffrey Nelson was also arrested in November 2025 for attempted sexual enticement of a minor.

According to court documents, a group that identifies potential sexual predators via the internet contacted the Brown County Sheriff’s Office in November. The group reported that it had posted a photo of a female who appeared to be underage but was, in fact, an adult. The group’s leader, identified in court documents as Alex Rosen, told investigators that Nelson began messaging the person portrayed in the post. During the exchange, the person told Nelson she was 14 years old, according to the affidavit.

The affidavit then states that Nelson asked what sexual favors he could get for $200 and arranged to meet at the Roadrunner, purchase a hotel room, and buy condoms. Rosen also said that Nelson asked for nude photos of the girl. When Nelson showed up at the meeting spot in Ainsworth, the Roadrunner parking lot, the child enticement group confronted Nelson.

During a search of Nelson’s phone, investigators say they found around 60 videos and 30 pictures that appeared to be illicit sexual abuse of a child, some under the age of five.

The affidavit states that authorities have not yet reviewed all the evidence from the phone, along with other devices, so the investigation is ongoing.
