MULLEN, Neb. -- As wildfires continue to impact Nebraska’s heartland, a Mullen nonprofit is mobilizing to help ranchers save their livelihoods.

The Mullen-based America's Lifeline Emergency Response Team Foundation, also known as ALERT, has teamed up with Ogallala Livestock Auction and Ogallala Ag Supply to coordinate essential hay, fencing and livestock supplies.

They have already heard from donors as far away as Texas. Right now, the team is identifying specific needs to get that hay directly into the hands of local producers.

For drop-off locations or to make a monetary donation, visit the ALERT Facebook page. Every bit of info and every bale makes a difference.
