SIDNEY, NE --The Sidney City Council will discuss a unique opportunity with Adams Industries at their first meeting in March on Tuesday.

The inland port authority (IPA) is a subdivision of the state government allowed to process imported and exported goods.

During the Feb. 8 meeting, Kim Mathews, from Adam's Industries, asked the council to collaborate on the formation of an IPA. She said Nebraska will pass five IPAs across the state.

The council will discuss if they want to proceed with developing an IPA within the 300 acres of Adam's Industries campus.

Also on the agenda is the approval of funds for the Sidney lighting committee to redo the Christmas lights.

The council will discuss the consideration of bids for the cracked ceiling.

The public is welcome to attend the meeting on Tuesday at 6:15 p.m.
