987 The Big Boy host St. Paddy's event to raise money for Plains West CASA
SIDNEY, NE -- 987 The Big Boy St. Patrick's Day event raises money for Plains West CASA.
A Panhandle radio station used St. Patrick's Day to raise funds for a local organization.
Plains West CASA stands for Court Appointed Special Advocates for children. CASA are community volunteers who represent the interests of abused children, advocating for children in foster in care in Cheyenne, Kimball, and Deuel counties.
Plains West CASA held a pancake breakfast at The Rock to raise money from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. The kitchen staff was at The Rock at 4 a.m. to prepare the fundraiser.
987 The Big Boy radio host and station manager Hunter Arterburn said the event raised Plains West CASA raised $2,000.
“We want to thank the people for showing up and coming out to join us whether it was raising money for Plains West CASA or just coming out and having a beverage with us,” says Arterburn.
The Rock Sports Bar and Grill served corn beef, cabbage and reuben sandwiches through the day for St. Patrick's Day.
987 The Big Boy’s Marketing executive Justin Richards says he is thankful to all the business involved to help make the event great.
“It takes the entire community coming together for an event like this. The businesses opening their doors and coming together for such a great cause, raising money for Plains West Casa. It makes it worthwhile every year that’s why we keep doing it" says Richards.
Arterburn says The Rock was a great host for the event, one he will stick with him for a long time.
“And thank you not only to The Rock for their hospitality, the cooks, the chefs, the bartenders, the servers, but also thank you to the 10 other sponsors in our community that sponsor The Big Boy St. Paddy’s Day. It’s been fantastic one that I’ll remember forever that’s for sure” says Arterburn.
