Wildfire smoke fills Sidney air Friday evening

SIDNEY - A grass fire in northeast Colorado is being blamed for dense smoke in Cheyenne County Friday night.
Sidney Police Chief Joe Aikens said the poor visibility and air quality is because of a wildfire south of Fleming. He confirmed there were no active grass fires around Sidney as of 7:30 p.m. Friday.
The fire was located near County Road 69 and County Road 4 and moving rapidly to the northeast. An evacuation notice was sent to residents in the fire's path.
The Sidney Fire Department responded to a grass fire near County Road 125 on Friday, but it has since been put out.
