Schmid, Creek Valley win Leyton golf invite

SIDNEY - Creek Valley senior Eli Schmid fired an 89 (+17) and the Storm claimed the 2022 Leyton High School Golf Invitational Thursday at Hillside Golf Course in Sidney.

It was the first time in school history Leyton hosted a golf meet. 

Schmid finished one shot better than Leyton's Dillon Juelfs. Juelfs shot an 18-hole score of 90 (+18). Dax Powell, of Hemingford, Cole Hanley, of Sidney, and Daren McConville, of Hemingford, rounded out the top five.

Creek Valley won the team title with a score of 399, one stroke over the Bobcats. Leyton was third at 410.
