Chadron State to host six-man football shootout Friday
CHADRON - A cross-border battle for six-man football glory returns to Chadron this weekend.
The 11th annual Battle for the Border: Nebraska-Wyoming 6-Man Shootout will be played Friday, June 3 at Chadron State College’s Elliott Field, featuring the best six-man players from across Nebraska and Wyoming.
Kick-off will be at 7 p.m. Friday following player introductions at 6:40 p.m.
Playing for the Nebraska team will be the following: Jared Anton and Thomas Muldoon of Potter-Dix, Peyton Sterkel, Tucker Ravenscroft and Gage Davis of Cody-Kilgore, Jake Harrison of Franklin, Daniel Dissner and Dawson Murphy of Spalding Academy, Brock Karr of Silver Lake, Chase Wilkinson and Gage Rhodes of McCool Junction, Bryce Hanna and Edward Daly of Arthur County, Carson McCleary of Red Cloud, and Andrew Richardson and Tanner McDonald of Sterling.
The Wyoming roster includes: Trevor Jones and Cree Jones of Farson Eden, Dace Bennett, Mickle Ogden, Kalvin Erickson and Jonathan Blessing of Meeteetse, Wyatt Adams, Jerick Martinez, and Zander Risner of Little Snake River, Bryce Ackerman and Tyler Kromarek of Hulett, Caysen Barkhurst, Michael Anderson and Koye Gilbert of Encampment, Rawland Isabell of Guernsey-Sunrise, Jacob Hutchings of Midwest, Brac Walker of Burlington and Max Claar of Dubois.
Players will arrive on campus Wednesday for their first practices, which will continue Thursday before the teams partake in a bit of bowling at Hilltop Lanes. The group will also be treated to a showing of “Top Gun Maverick” Friday before taking the field.
Admission to the game is $5 for adults and $4 for students. Concessions will be available on site.
