NORTHEAST COLORADO --  A Caring Pregnancy Resource Center of Northeast Colorado is holding it's Annual Fund raising Banquets from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on four consecutive evenings with four locations to choose from:

• Friday, January 24, Northeaster Junior College Ballroom (NJC), Sterling

• Saturday, January 25, Phillips County Event Center, Holyoke

• Sunday, January 26, Red Willow Event Center, Yuma

• Monday, January 27, Morgan County Event Center, Brush

This year’s banquet theme “Light Their Path” features speaker Tori Shaw, a woman who discovered she was pregnant at 16. In a rushed attempt to hide the pregnancy, Tori had an abortion less than 24 hours after finding out the news. She left the abortion clinic completely different than when she entered, and her life quickly spiraled downhill.

It took Tori 17 years to come out of hiding and share her secret with others. Since doing so, she has created Not Forgotten Ministries providing support for individuals who’ve experienced abortion. Tori now walks in complete freedom following her abortion and desires the same for others who have walked a similar journey.

“It’s time we reach out to those affected by abortion.” says Roberta Bigalk, Executive Director of A Caring Pregnancy Resource Center of Northeast Colorado. “When a woman finds she’s pregnant, she has only one of three choices. Carry to term and parent, choose parents for her child or have an abortion. All are equally hard, and the results last for a lifetime.”

Bigalk said women in life-changing situations need their community's support.

“Women facing an unplanned pregnancy need our support. In addition to the services we regularly provide, we’re launching a new after-abortion care support program that is online and anonymous. Those who need our help now have an avenue to receive the support they need. Each of our online leaders have had abortions themselves and understand the ramifications of that decision,” she added.

She said the number of women A Caring Pregnancy Resource Center of Northeast Colorado serves shows there is a need.

“Having served well over 300 women this past year shows us how valuable our organization is to the communities we serve in Northeastern Colorado. We’d like to double that number!”

A Caring Pregnancy Resource Center is a 501 (c)3 non-profit with five locations in Yuma, Wray, Sterling, Holyoke, and Brush providing no cost and confidential pregnancy confirmation, Ultrasounds, giving closets, support services and resource referral throughout Northeast Colorado.
