Leeling matches sixth highest mark in Husker history

DES MOINES, Iowa – Nebraska freshman Karsyn Leeling delivered a standout performance Saturday at the Drake Relays, clearing 6 feet, 0 ¾ inches (1.85m) to earn third place in the women’s high jump championship division. The former Sidney Lady Raider's jump matches the sixth-highest mark in program history, securing a bronze finish for the freshman.

Teammate Jenna Rogers claimed the women’s high jump championship title, clearing 6 feet, 2 inches (1.88m), while Brooklyn Miller placed second in the university division.

The Huskers collected 10 individual titles during Saturday's event, dominating the field events. Freshman Jenessa Ruder captured the women’s javelin title with a throw of 175 feet, 6 inches (53.50m), while Seth Schnakenberg won the men’s hammer throw at 205 feet, 10 inches (62.75m). Cammy Garabian added a university division win in the women’s hammer throw, and Hayden Gorovitz took third in the men’s javelin championship.

The Huskers also posted top-eight finishes in multiple relays, including the women’s and men’s 4x100-meter and 4x400-meter events, along with strong performances in the sprint and distance medley relays.

Next up, Nebraska travels to Tucson, Arizona, for the Desert Heat Classic on May 2–3.
