Marva Wieser

Marva J. Wieser, age 84, of Sidney, NE passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, May 01, 2025. Cremation has taken place and graveside service will be held at 2:00 P.M. at the Greenwood Cemetery in Sidney, NE on Monday, May 12, 2025, with Father Bryan Ernest Officiating, all are welcome to attend. A private celebration of life will follow the service.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research or to the family for a later designation.
Friends may stop at the Gehrig-Stitt Chapel to leave condolences for the family.

Marva Jean Wieser (Dickes), the daughter of Edward and Lillie Dickes, was born on May 14, 1940, in Sidney, NE. She graduated from Sidney St. Patrick’s. She was united in marriage to Maynard Wieser on September 15, 1956, at St Patrick’s Catholic Church in Sidney. To this union, seven children were born.
Marva and Maynard owned and operated the Meadow Gold Milk Company in Sidney, where she was a bookkeeper for thirty years. After selling the milk business they opened the Peso De Oro Mexican Restaurant, currently the Rock Sports Bar and Grill. Her employment after that centered around caring for children. Marva enjoyed playing cards, golfing, crosswords, trivia and gatherings with extended family and friends. She also really enjoyed the bridge and pitch players at the Community Center; she counted on these tri-weekly gatherings and made many new special friends. However, her greatest joy was raising her seven wonderful children and spending time with the grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Survivors include her children, Rick Wieser and special friend Janet, Lori Foster and husband Tony, Jodi Harvey and husband Mike, Randy Wieser and wife Deb, Jane Woodis and husband Bob. 21 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, sister Wilma Mikkelson and husband Mike, sister Correne Sanger and husband Tim, sister-in-law Marie Dickes, brothers-in-law Dave, Don and Ron Wieser and spouses as well as many extended family members and friends.
Marva was preceded in death by her husband Maynard, son Mark, daughter Terrie, her parents Edward and Lillie Dickes, brother Bill, parents-in-law Joseph and Amelia Wieser and several extended family members.
