Update: Local teen recovering after December 5 accident

A Potter teen is home recovering from injuries she received in a two-vehicle accident in Sidney December 5.

SIDNEY -- A Potter teen is home recovering after suffering severe injuries in a December 5 two-vehicle accident.

A 1999 Mercury Grand Marquis and a 2020 GMC pickup truck collided at the intersection of Jennifer Lane and U.S. Highway 385 on December 5.

The accident occurred at 3:33 p.m., according to the accident report, with the sedan eastbound crossing Highway 385 and the pickup northbound on Highway 385. The sedan was eastbound on Jennifer Lane crossing Highway 385 as the driver of the pickup, Christopher King, of Sidney, was driving north.

The teen driver and a 17-year-old passenger of the sedan were transported to Sidney Regional Medical Center. The driver has been released from the hospital and is home recovering. According to the police report, the passenger also had severe injuries.

No injuries were reported by King or for the two passengers in the pickup.

The sedan sustained an estimated $15,000 damage and the pickup an estimated $20,000 damage.
