Perkins County deputies arrest Venango man near Lamar

A Venango man was arrested Wednesday near Lamar on felony and misdemeanor warrants, according to the Perkins County Sheriff’s Office.

LAMAR, Neb. - A Venango man was arrested Wednesday, Jan. 7, near Lamar on two separate warrants following a joint operation by the Perkins County Sheriff’s Office and the Chase County Sheriff’s Office.

According to the Perkins County Sheriff’s Office, Joshua A. Patten of Venango was taken into custody after deputies located him near Lamar. Patten was arrested on a felony warrant for failure to register as a sex offender and a misdemeanor warrant for failure to appear in court related to prior marijuana possession charges.

Following his arrest, Patten was transported to the Keith County Jail, where he is being held pending further court proceedings.

The Perkins County Sheriff’s Office said the arrest was made with assistance from the Chase County Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities emphasized that Patten is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
