STERLING, Colo. — The Julesburg High School chapter of Future Business Leaders of America advanced 11 individual and team entries to the state level following the District IV FBLA Leadership Conference held on the Northeastern Junior College campus.

Julesburg students competed in 22 events and earned state-qualifying finishes across testing and live presentation categories. To advance, competitors were required to place in the top three in testing events or the top four in presentation events.

The chapter posted two first-place finishes, qualifying teams in Public Service Announcement and Social Media Strategies. Additional state qualifiers came from second-, third- and fourth-place finishes in events including retail and merchandising, sports and entertainment management, journalism, entrepreneurship, public speaking, hospitality and event management, and introductory business competitions.

Senior Riley Jarrett was also recognized with a District IV FBLA Scholarship. Jarrett was selected as one of three recipients districtwide and received a $250 award. He plans to attend the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley, majoring in business administration with an emphasis in marketing.
