Vice President of News & Content-News Channel Nebraska

Michael Shively is Vice President of News and Content for News Channel Nebraska, bringing years of experience in storytelling, broadcasting, and newsroom leadership to the role. A lifelong Nebraskan and graduate of Lincoln East High School and the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, he has held nearly every broadcast position in television and radio. Since joining News Channel Nebraska in 2016, Shively has served as a reporter, anchor, assignment editor, and content director in multiple leadership roles across the state. In his current position, he oversees all news and sports content across television, digital, and radio platforms, including English and Spanish language brands.

Aside from NCN, Shively spent three seasons as a play-by-play announcer for professional baseball teams, including two seasons as the voice of his hometown Lincoln Saltdogs. He lives in Norfolk with his wife, Kailey, and their dog, Stella.
