Man arrested after disturbance in Bridgeport

A Bridgeport man was arrested Saturday night after deputies responded to a disturbance involving threats and attempted forced entry, according to the Morrill County Sheriff’s Office.

BRIDGEPORT, Neb. — Deputies with the Morrill County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man Saturday evening following a reported disturbance in Bridgeport.

According to the sheriff’s office, deputies responded Feb. 7 to the area of Seventh Street and Q Street after receiving a report of a male attempting to force entry into a residence and making threats.

Deputies located the involved individuals upon arrival and began an investigation. Authorities said evidence, including security video and witness statements, showed the male subject went to the residence after being told not to, pounded on the door and made multiple threats toward other individuals.

The suspect, identified as Gerald L. Post, was taken into custody without incident.

Post was booked into the Morrill County Jail on charges of terroristic threats, second-degree criminal trespass and disturbing the peace.

All individuals arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
