Bridgeport falls to Gothenburg in subdistrict semifinals

Gothenburg's girls basketball team will head to the Class C1 District 10 championship to face Ogallala after a 57-29 win over Bridgeport Tuesday night.

OGALLALA - Gothenburg's girls basketball team will head to the Class C1 District 10 championship to face Ogallala after a 57-29 win over Bridgeport Tuesday night in Ogallala.

The Lady Sweedes had a 4 point lead heading into halftime with only three players scoring. Senior Hasley Thomalla then took over, capturing 10 in the second half with a total of 17 points.

Junior Zoe Beveridge added another 14 to the mix while senior Lindly Anderson chipped in 11 points.

Gothenburg knocked down 6-threes and shot 16 of 23 from the charity stripe.

Bridgeport was led by their senior Ellie Schluterbusch and junior Olivia Brown each finished with 10 points, combining for 20 of the 29 Bulldog points.

Freshman Reata Loomis chipped in another 4 points.

The Lady Bulldogs hit 4-threes and went 5 of 14 from the free throw line.

The Lady Sweedes will face Ogallala for the C1-10 championship game happening Thursday in Ogallala starting at 6 PM. Bridgeport currently sits 10th in Wildcard points and will wait to see about a District Final.
