By News Channel NebraskaANGORA, Neb. — A train derailment was reported early Friday morning near Angora, affecting the main rail line in western Nebraska.
BNSF Railway said it received a preliminary report of the derailment at approximately 6:30 a.m. CDT on Feb. 20. Angora is located about 18 miles southwest of Alliance.
The derailment has impacted the main track, and BNSF field personnel responded to the scene to assess conditions and begin recovery efforts.
According to the railroad, the estimated reopening of main track two is Saturday at approximately 5 a.m. CDT. Main track one is expected to reopen later Saturday at approximately 3 p.m. CDT.
BNSF said customers with loaded shipments directly involved in the incident will be contacted by a member of the company’s Load and Ride Solutions team within 24 hours with additional information and next steps.
