Increased fire activity on the northwest side of the South Fork Fire has prompted new evacuation notices and intermittent closures of Highway 20, according to emergency management officials.
Firefighters made significant progress Friday on the South Fork Fire burning near Crawford, increasing containment to 42% as the Nebraska Department of Transportation reopened Highway 20 to traffic.
