More candidates adding their names to Cheyenne County ballot

UPDATE: Two more candidates enter local races

CHEYENNE COUNTY -- The ballot is expanding as candidates add their names to their respective races.

Incumbent Christina Lotton is the sole candidate for Cheyenne County Assessor. She was appointed Assessor when Jordan Hajek applied for and was offered the Clerk's position following the retirement of County Clerk Beth Fiegenschuh.

Shiela VonSeggern is seeking election after her appointment following Shelley Bowlin.

Incumbent Jordan Hajek and challenger Whitney Whatley will be competing for the County Clerk seat.

Amber Horn is seeking election to the County Attorney position. She was appointed to the position following the resignation of Paul Schaub.

Mark Onstott and James Popovich will be competing for the Third District County Commissioner seat. Ryan Watchorn is the sole candidate for the Second District County Commissioner seat.

Incumbent Mindy Wiegand is seeking her second term as District Court Clerk.

The Sidney School District has two incumbents and two non-incumbents for the board of education seats. Rusty Gulbranson and Michael J. Palmer are the incumbents and Sarah Sinnett, Kegan Carwin and Yvette "Yetty" Roberts are the non-incumbents.

The Sidney City Council has three incumbents and three non-incumbents: Jeremy Lee, Brett Kerkman and Brandon Bondegard are the incumbents and Brock M. Buckner, Sr., Eric Pool and Brian Fort are the non-incumbents.

Nic Haas and Jesse Mueller, both incumbent are on the ballot for the Airport Authority Board.

Creek Valley has three incumbent candidates Cheyenne County voters will see: Deann C. Speirs, Doug Mashek and Lucas Hanson.

The Village of Potter has two seats open and on (incumbent) candidate: Kendra Mitchell.

Nicole Rasmusen is seeking a seat on the Potter School Board.

The Village of Gurley has three open seats and no candidates.

The Primary Election will be held May 12 and the General Election November 3.
