LINCOLN - Nebraska reported 167 new coronavirus cases on Sunday to give the state 19,827 cases since the outbreak began.

The state Department of Health and Human Services said Sunday that the number of deaths linked to the coronavirus in Nebraska remained at 284.

State officials said 43% of Nebraska’s hospital beds, 53% of the intensive care beds and 81 percent of the ventilators in the state remained available Sunday.

For most people, the coronavirus causes mild or moderate symptoms that clear up in two to three weeks.

For some, especially older adults and people with existing health problems, it can cause more severe illness.
