GERING, Neb. -- Two Gering residents are facing charges after a traffic stop in Scottsbluff Monday night led to the discovery of methamphetamine in a lockbox.

Arrest affidavits say as officers stopped a car for a non-functioning brake light, 27-year-old Dimas Garza jumped from the driver's seat into the back seat, and 30-year-old Undreia Martinez moved over from the front passenger seat.

A K-9 was called in, and a search uncovered a lockbox containing approximately 28 grams of meth, two oxycodone hydrochloride pills, a digital scale and a debit card in Garza's name.

Officers say Martinez tried to claim the drugs were hers, but the keys for the lockbox were in Garza's pocket. Both face multiple charges.
