Western Nebraska will be dealing with light snow to go along with plummeting temperatures late Tuesday.

The National Weather Service says a strong cold front will move south across the area Tuesday afternoon. Rain along the front is expected to turn to snow behind the front.

Snow averages are expected to be less than an inch with 1-2 inches possible in the northern Nebraska panhandle.

Any snow is expected to taper off Wednesday morning.

The snow will accompany cold temperatures, expected to drop into the single digits or teens overnight.
