A Chadron man is in custody on two felony counts following a domestic disturbance early Thursday morning that sent both participants to the hospital.

37-year old Conrad Randall was lodged in the Dawes County jail on counts of Strangulation and 2nd-Degree Domestic Assault.

He’s also being held on an unrelated warrant from Sheridan County with bail at $50,000 for the Dawes Count charges and $10,000 for the warrant.

Chadron Officer Colin Deines says a 911 call came into the Communications Center a little before 2:00 am, but with no one on the line.

Deines and Sgt Chelsey Stolley responded to the Regency Trailer Court on the southwest side of Chadron where they encountered a woman bleeding from the head.

Dienes says she told them that she had been beaten up and strangled by Randall, her boyfriend, who was also in the trailer.

Both Randall and the woman were interviewed, revealing the incident included the use of a baseball bat and a handsaw.

A search warrant was obtained for the residence and officers seized a bat and handsaw as well as “photographic evidence” of the crime scene.

Both Randall and the woman were taken to Chadron Community Hospital for treatment of injuries, with Randall then transported to the jail and booked.
