BAYARD - The Pine Bluffs boys and Bayard girls captured team titles at the Bayard CD Invitational Track and Field meet Saturday in Bayard. The Hornets edged out Gordon-Rushville by 1 point and Lingle-Fort Laramie by 2 points for the boys crown while the Tigers crept by Southeast 79-70 for the girls title.

Pine Bluffs’ boys only had two gold medal performances on the day. Carson Rabou captured the 110 Meter High Hurdles in a time of :16.54 and Reed Thompson took first in the Long Jump with a leap of 19'7½". The Hornets had 7 athletes record personal bests on the way to the win.

The Bayard girls took home 3 gold medals on the day. Dani Harter won the 200 Meter in a time of :27.49 while Joslyn Hopkins captured the Triple Jump with a leap of 32'1". The Tiger 4x100 Relay team of Cambree Schmaltz, Dani Harter, Danika Hassel, and Ashley Garza also won gold in a time of :52.68.
