Republican candidate for Governor of Nebraska Michael Connely has announced his running mate. Connely, a veteran of the U-S Marine Corps originally from Broken Bow, has named another former Marine as his pick for Lt Governor, Robert Rhodes Jr.

Rhodes graduated from Kearney Catholic High School and currently works in water purification systems but has worked previously in Aviation Engineering and Nuclear Missile Control Systems at Northrup.

Rhodes researched state gun laws across the USA and then authored and sponsored 2nd Amendment Initiatives in Nebraska on “Stand Your Ground” “Constitutional Carry” and others.

Connely says he picked Rhodes “Because of his massive contributions and direct actions to help gun owner rights in Nebraska.”

He adds that “There is not a single candidate for Governor or Lt. Governor who compares to Rhodes in his contributions to 2nd Amendment restoration actions.

Connely and Rhodes are considered a longshot in a 9-way race in the Republican primary.
