Shift in Mitchell, North Platte activities director positions

MITCHELL, Neb. (KNEP) - Mitchell High School will have a new Activities Director and Dean of Students.

Mitchell head girls golf coach Kaci Kearns has been named to the positions. Kearns has been working in the Mitchell Public School System for a little over 20 years and has been head coach of the girls golf program for 13 seasons.

Kearns will replace Jimmie Rhodes who is the new athletic director at North Platte High School.

Kearns will still coach the girls team during the fall season.

Rhodes is set to begin a new chapter in his career. Rhodes will become activities director at Class A North Platte High School.

After a stint at Gering High School, Rhodes has been at Mitchell High School since 2015 as head coach of the football program and then just focusing on the Tiger AD job.

He decided it was time to make a change in his career and focus.
