DONIPHAN, NE – The Sidney Sharpshooters 4-H Trap Shooting team had a successful trip to the Cornhusker State Trap Shoot on Thursday, April 28th through Saturday, April 30th in Doniphan, NE. Despite having to deal with a variety of weather conditions, including high winds, the Sharpshooters captured a first place and a pair of third place finishes.

The Senior Sidney Sharpshooters 4-H team of Sidney Allard, Destiny Frye, Hunter Wolff, Jayce Namuth, and David Brauer broke 253 out of 375 clays to take 1st Place in the Senior Handicap 4-H Team competition. The same team also earned a 3rd Place in the Senior High Overall 4-H Team, breaking 568 clays out of a possible 750.

The Sharpshooters also collected some individual honors. Senior team member Destiny Frye earned a 3rd Place finish in the Seniors Handicap Ladies division, breaking 58 of a possible 75 clays.

The team is coached by Jeff Ellwanger who received the plaque for the 2022 Championship Coach for High School 4-H Handicap Team.
