The two-day Nebraska School Activities Association Boys State Golf Championships tee off on Tuesday, May 24th at four sites across the state. Class A competes at Norfolk Country Club in Norfolk while Class B will tee it up at Scotts Bluff Country Club in Scottsbluff. Elks Country Club in Columbus is the site of the Class C championships and Lake Maloney Golf Club in North Platte will host the Class D tournament.

Columbus Lakeview, Elkhorn North, McCook, Minden, Mount Michael Benedictine, Norris, Ogallala, Omaha Concordia, Omaha Skutt Catholic, Scottsbluff, Wayne, and York will compete for the Class B team title in Scottsbluff. The Bearcats, who won the B-4 District at Heritage Hills Golf Course in McCook, will be competing on their home course.

Golfers who finished in the top-10 Individual standings at district, and are not on a qualifying team, can compete as individuals at the state championships. A trio of panhandle golfers will compete for individual honors. Sidney junior John Beier qualified by taking low medalist honors at the B-4 District. Senior Jacksyn Behrends from Chadron and freshman John Maser of Gering will also compete at Scotts Bluff Country Club.

Competing for a team title in Class C at Elks Country Club in Columbus will be Amherst, Archbishop Bergan, Columbus Scotus, Doniphan-Trumbull, Grand Island Central Catholic, Hartington Cedar Catholic, Heartland, Kearney Catholic, Lincoln Lutheran, Milford, Mitchell, Tekamah-Herman, Tri County Northeast, West Holt, and Yutan.

Individual Qualifiers from the panhandle include junior Jace Nelson and senior Tegan Snyder of Gordon-Rushville and Bridgeport senior Braxten Swires.

The Class D State Golf Tournament will be contested at Lake Maloney Golf Club south of North Platte. Teams battling for the team title are Crawford, Hemingford, Howells-Dodge, Humphrey St. Francis, Lawrence-Nelson, Loomis, Neligh-Oakdale, North Platte St. Pat's, Overton, Pender, Perkins County, Southern Valley, Stanton, Thayer Central, and Wausa.

Panhandle golfers competing as individuals in Class D are Kimball’s Kyler Lusche, Jacob Holzfaster from Paxton, Gabe Varvel of Hay Springs, Creek Valley’s Elijah Schmid, and Jason Jensen of Leyton.

The Nebraska State Boys Golf Championships will be played Tuesday, May 24th and Wednesday, May 25th.
