Vehicle rollover Thursday morning on Highway 385

At 7:31 am the Cheyenne County Sheriff's Office received a report of a vehicle traveling southbound at a high rate of speed on US Highway 385 at mile marker 47.

SIDNEY -- At 7:31 am the Cheyenne County Sheriff's Office received a report of a vehicle traveling southbound at a high rate of speed on US Highway 385 at mile marker 47.

At 7:35 am, while responding to the driving complaint, officials were alerted of a single vehicle rollover with impact to an electrical transmission pole at mile marker 41. The vehicle that rolled and the vehicle that was called in for the driving complaint were found to be the same vehicle.

Investigation determined that the suspect vehicle was passing another vehicle when the driver lost control and exited the roadway via the west ditch.

The vehicle then struck an embankment and began to roll before crashing into an electrical transmission pole. The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle were ejected. The driver was transported to Sidney Regional Medical Center for treatment of their injuries. 

The Cheyenne County Sheriff's Office, Nebraska State Patrol, Regional West Medical Center Ambulance Service, Sidney Fire Department. Nebraska Department of Roads and Wheatbelt Public Power all reported to the scene.

The investigation is continuing.
