SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb.-- Scottsbluff officers arrested a man after they found over a gram of meth in his hotel room.

On May 6th officers were dispatched to the Candlelight Motel for a report of a male in a room who would not leave after check-out time.

The owner of the motel told police that Fernando Villarreal was refusing to leave. Officers reported being familiar with Villarreal from previous encounters. The owner unlocked the hotel room and officers immediately arrested Villarreal since he had a current warrant out for his arrest.

Officers reportedly found a jewelry bag with 1.2 grams of meth in his pocket as well as marijuana in his room.

Villarreal was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
