SIDNEY – The B7 Area American Legion Junior baseball tournament will be played in Sidney this weekend. The five-team double elimination tournament gets underway at Legion Field with a pair of games on Friday and will continue until the championship game on Tuesday, July 12th.

The first game on Friday has second seeded Gering (17-9) facing third seeded Chadron (10-7) at 4:00 p.m. That will be followed by fourth seeded Sidney (18-16) taking on fifth seeded Ogallala (5-17). Top-seeded Alliance (23-10) receives a bye in the first round.

Saturday’s games begin at 2;00 p.m. with an elimination game between the loser of Sidney/Ogallala battling the loser of Gering/Chadron. Top-seeded Alliance will play the winner of Sidney/Ogallala at 5:00 p.m.

Sunday begins with a winner’s bracket game at 2:00 p.m. followed by an elimination game at 5:00 p.m. Another elimination game will be played on Monday at 5:00 p.m. with the first championship game slated for Tuesday at 4:00 p.m.

The B7 champion will advance to the Nebraska American Legion Junior State Tournament, Saturday, July 16th through Wednesday, July 20th in Wahoo.
