SIDNEY, Neb. — The Sidney Raiders kicked off their football season at home against the Holdrege Dusters Friday night.

Sidney Junior Luke Holly started the game off strong for the Raiders with a 92 yard kick return touchdown. Holy scored two touchdowns in the first half.

The Duster’s held onto the lead and caught an interception during the second which held the Raiders to two touchdowns, making the halftime score 14 to 27, Holdrege.

Koleman Keiser and Austin Roelle scored for Sidney in the third quarter.

The Duster’s Seniors Jayden Janssen and Jackson Hinrichs both showed some speed running down the field multiple times. Janssen scored a touchdown with just over a minute left in the third quarter.

Holdrege led 27 to 40 going into the final quarter.

Holdrege scored first in the fourth quarter leaving the Raiders down by 20.

The Duster’s defense held the Raiders the entire fourth quarter with the end game result of 27 to 47, Holdrege.

Sidney Junior McGuire Rolls had a total of 10 tackles throughout the game.

The Sidney Raiders will be back under the Friday night lights Sept 2nd.
