Chadron golfers heading to state

Kenie Pourier and Taegan Bach finished top ten and the Chadron girls golf team claimed 3rd at the C-5 district meet in Kimball to punch their ticket to the Class C state golf tournament.

Kenie Pourier and Taegan Bach finished top ten and the Chadron girls golf team claimed 3rd at the C-5 district meet in Kimball to punch their ticket to the Class C state golf tournament.

Pourier fired a round of 103 and won a tiebreaker to take 6th. Bach shot a 110 and finished in a 3-way tie for 9th but lost out and ended 10th.

Mekallyn Bancroft of Valentine won top honors with an even 90.

The Cardinals team score of 440 was 12 strokes behind runner-up Hershey and good enough to send the entire team to the state meet at the Elks Country Club in Columbus next Monday and Tuesday.

Mitchell won the team title with a 408.

Gordon-Rushville is sending a pair to state after top 10 performances.

Tessa Hurlburt took 3rd with a round of 99 and Kylie Coomes ended her day with a 103 but lost the tiebreaker with Pourier and earned 7th.
