Over 100 pounds of marijuana found on New York woman near Sidney

The Nebraska State Patrol arrested a woman from New York after finding more than 100 lbs. of suspected marijuana near Sunol.

SUNOL, Neb. -- The Nebraska State Patrol arrested a woman from New York after finding more than 100 lbs. of suspected marijuana near Sunol.

NSP said a trooper saw an eastbound Mazda CX9 speeding on Interstate 80 near mile marker 70 at 10:15 MT on Oct. 13. The trooper performed a traffic stop on the vehicle and reportedly became suspicious of criminal activity.

According to authorities, they searched the vehicle and found approximately 103 lbs. of suspected marijuana that was hidden in the back of the vehicle. 

Officials said the driver was 48-year-old Victoria Chin, of Brooklyn, N.Y. Chin was lodged in Cheyenne County Jail and arrested for possession of marijuana – more than one lb. and possession with intent to distribute.
