Bayard earns trip to state volleyball tournament

The Bayard volleyball team punching their tickets into the Class C2 Nebraska State Volleyball Tournament thanks to a five set win over Freeman on Saturday.

BAYARD, Neb. (KNEP) - The Bayard volleyball team punching their tickets into the Class C2 Nebraska State Volleyball Tournament thanks to a five set win over Freeman on Saturday.

The two teams showcased their talents with Freeman earning the first set 25-15. Bayard answering back winning sets two (25-19) and three (25-23). Freeman like all match responding with a run in set four to even the match with a 25-19 set four win.

Set five saw 7 lead changes and 7 ties but in the end Bayard was able to earn the extra points win 16-14.

Tigers will now head to the Class C2 State Volleyball Tournament which is set to begin Thursday November 3rd in Lincoln. It will mark Bayard’s first trip to state in 30 years.
