KIMBALL – Despite shooting 12-31 from the free throw line, the Pine Bluffs girls basketball team defeated Kimball 46-34 Tuesday night at Kimball High School.

The Hornets were led by Avery Sweeter, who ended the game with nine points.

Junior Julia Winstrom had 13 points to lead the Longhorns. Junior Grace Anderson added 12.

Pine Bluffs improves to 6-11 and travel to Lingle-Fort Laramie (12-5) on Thursday. Kimball falls to 1-17 and will travel to Hemingford on Friday to face the Bobcats (4-15). 

Meanwhile in the boy’s game, Kimball fell to Pine Bluffs, 61-37, despite the 13 points from both Brandon Paxton and Kyler Lusche.  

Lusche scored 5 of his 13 points from the free-throw line.  

The Hornets were led by senior Stuart Lerwick and sophomore Justin Lerwick with 13 points each. Senior Dalton Schaefer added 11.

Pine Bluffs goes to 15-2 and travel to Lingle-Fort Laramie (12-5) on Thursday. The Longhorns fall to 7-13 and will travel to Hemingford (9-11) on Friday.
