Local Girls Subdistrict Pairings Released
The Nebraska School Activities released the girls Sub-District pairings for classes C1, C2, D1, and D2.
LINCOLN - The Nebraska School Activities released the girls Sub-District pairings for classes C1, C2, D1, and D2. Panhandle C1 and C2 tournaments will be played on Monday, February 13th, Tuesday, February 14th, with championship games on Thursday, February 16th. Panhandle D1 and D2 tournaments will play semifinals on Tuesday, February 14th with championship games on Thursday, February 16th.
Bridgeport (20-0) will be the top seed in the C1-12 Sub-District and will host the tournament at Bridgeport High School. The fourth seed Ogallala (11-10) and the fifth seed Chadron (9-12) will open the tournament on Monday, February 13th at 5:00 p.m. with a play-in game. The winner will take on Bridgeport on Tuesday, February 14th at 5:00 p.m. in the first semifinal of the evening. Second seeded Hershey (17-6) and third seeded Chase County (12-8) meet in the second semifinal at 6:30 p.m. The Championship game tips at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 16th.
Gordon-Rushville (16-3) will host the C2-12 Sub-District as the Mustangs earned the number one seed. Fourth seeded Mitchell (5-17) and fifth seeded Hemingford (4-15) will play Monday at 6:00 p.m. in Hemingford. Gordon-Rushville will square off against the winner of that game on Tuesday in a semifinal at 6:30 p.m. Number two seed Bayard (16-5) and number three seed Perkins County (11-9) pay in the first semifinal at 5:00 p.m. The championship game is slated for 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
The D1-12 Sub-District will be held in Big Springs as South Platte (13-7) captured the top spot. The Blue Knights face fourth seeded Kimball (1-17) on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. in one semifinal while second seeded Morrill (10-9) meets number three seed Crawford (9-12) in the other semifinal at 5:00 p.m. The D1-12 championship game is scheduled for Thursday at 6:00 p.m.
Leyton (14-5) received a bye into the championship game of the three-team D2-11 Sub-District in Dalton. Second seeded Potter-Dix (6-12) and third seeded Banner County (0-17) will play on Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. for the right to take on the Warriors in the championship game on Thursday night at 6:00 p.m.
Class B girls sub-district pairing will be released next week. All sub-district winners qualify for a district final with a state tournament bid on the line.
